Associate Art Director - Far cry 6

PS 4/5, Xbox Series X/One, google Stadia, PC

Far Cry 6 was an amazing experience, a huge team effort, and collaborating with many different Ubisoft studios around the globe.

Under a strong narrative and visual storytelling, the latest installment of Far Cry 6 has explored an uncharted visual world that has never been done before in the history of its franchise.

I joined the project during the pre-conception phase, undertaking the responsibility and accountability to drive the visual Art Direction and maintain the visual pillar for the Esperanza Region, as well as to push the Art Direction of the classic Far Cry Outpost locations that breathe inside the world of Yara.

It was imperative that I work extremely closely with the Technical Art Directors, Technical Directors, and Architects to propose, evangelize and test the proprietary engine with a new art creation pipeline to ensure the delivery of visual content that was a significant undertaking for the project and its franchise.

With the help of fantastic, talented colleagues, we were able to push the visualize Esperanza Region.

Key responsibilities:

  • Art Director for the World Art content, including a core mandate to deliver the World Art for the city region: Esperanza.

  • Other areas of ownership include providing the Art Direction for the Open World and Bespoke Locations such as an Outpost.

  • Working closely with the other Associate Art Directors - Christopher Babic, Judy Suh, Billy Matijunis, and Nick Tam - to deliver a living breathing world.

  • Maintaining oversight and providing timely feedback on all artists involved in the above mandate.

  • Working closely with the Core Directors and the vision stakeholders on evangelizing the idea, maintaining the vision, and polishing the Art Direction.

  • Working closely with the Level Design Directors on all Art Direction content to ensure a memorable, player-first gameplay experience.

  • Collaborating with Concept Artists to push the artistic vision and the environmental storytelling.
